Cell theory, as one of the 4 unifying principles of biology, has always had an impact on my earth-based human experience. It's hard to pay attention to Britney's latest antics or Reality TV when all you're thinking about is cells, on a macro & micro level. Because life on earth is made of cells, cell integrity is an important theme in the reality TV show of my life: A Day in the Lyfe of $lutzgetjealou$: thinspiration meets knifestyles 2008.
Translating into normal speak, I'm trying to say that I really care about the way I look, and I maintain cell integrity as much as possible, due to the fact that cells comprise living tissue, so if cells aren't at 100%, it's obvious that the organism won't be at 100% and hence, inferior in comparison to organisms with better cellular integrity.
I'm saying that I want to look young forever! Global culture engenders beauty into our psychology, and looking young (and healthy) is what matters because youth is "sexy" and hence, desirable. I often beat myself up internally for not wearing sunscreen, not drinking although water, not taking care of my skin, not eating enough potassium, etc. I mean, I enjoy being and looking healthy, at the core of that issue lies my burning desire to achieve immortality, and I'm happy that the current options for immortality will only open up more avenues as genomic medicine progresses and evolves.
So lately, I haven't been feeling as bad about my current cellular integrity, because in the big scheme of things, I have the face of a teen. It seems that rationally, I'd only have to keep up looking good for the next 10 years, until I'm in a position where I can control genomic medicine, and if I'm really serious about reactivating all these areas of primary growth (which I'm way serious about) I should be able to keep that face forever, unless my supposition is right and the stem cells actually do make me look younger. Maybe I should change my name to Apical Meristem?
Infinite life without infinite youth is meaningless. It's counter intuitive to think that appearances aren't the only thing that matters.
Omg, remember that one movie where the Asian woman kept making dumplings out of dead babies through performing clandestine abortions in the kitchen of her apartment so she stayed young forever? I guess that did have some basis in reality, prochymal stem cells.
