evolution of pop music

No matter how much shit people talk on pop music, it affects everyone living in this culture. Everyone watches MTV, everyone goes into stores where top 40 is playing, everyone listens to the radio at some point. This music is inescapable, and as much as people want to be cool and listen to shit that nobody else is, pop is inescapable. Madonna is the only one singing our love songs...

The first cassette I ever bought was Salt N Pepa's Very Necessary. The first music In started listening to on a regular basis was old school hip hop and freestyle (Latin house). I guess the real reason why I liked it so much was because it was fun and celebratory. I short, it makes people want to get up and dance. Hip hop has been the biggest selling genre of music for about a decade at this point...

Have you noticed that all the pop music produced now all sounds the same? First, it's integral to acknowledge the fact that all pop music is exclusively electronica at this point, because it's all made on machines. Instruments are inefficient, and relics of the past; instead music is produced. In addition to achieving a better, in short "perfect" sound, music production is more cost effective, efficient, and only requires at least 1 human instead of multiple people playing multiple instruments. Nobody wants to painstakingly and time consumingly master an instrument; mastering a musical instruments in addition requires no creativity unless the artist is producing new works that have never before been heard. In short it has allowed a new kind of intelligence to replicate...

Who would have thought that the switch would be so fast, because it only took less than 20 years. It's basically a mix of techno music, hip hop, and pop. It's kind of impossible to describe because it's a mix of everything, which is humorous considering there's no accepted term for something so common. If you look at albums that have come out recently, they all sound the same- Madonna, Britney, Kylie, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, etc etc etc.

Personally, I am amazed to think that techno music was just invented IN MY LIFETIME.
