p.s. how did intelligent design ever come into thought- it's beyond ridiculous. Still, I am offended by creationism more, purely for the fact that I've observed evolution in my life.

It's impossible to say that science doesn't have an impact on sociology, because all of society and it's views depend on what science and technology provide for people. No wonder the bible belt and antiquated views are the only part of the current social collapse.
