Reflective Paragraph
I took part in a research study done by xxx on April
19, 2006 in which I answered questions about
relationships (both family as well as romantic) and
the transition of college life, which inspects these
close ties with the added stress of staring life on
one's own. I feel as though the results I contributed
would be "better than average" being that I am rather
independent, and don't feel and extra debt, stress, or
guilt in respect to putting my family before myself.
After answering questions of my own ethnicity and
cultural background, as well as answering questions of
my parents background, country of birth, and
ethnicity, I came to the conclusion that a large part
of the study had to deal with ethnicity, or really I
mean to say the different cultural constructions of
family and honor, and the psychological effect that
has on the current American college-aged person. I
know the average white middle class person is not
realistically the prototype of a modern American, and
I think it's interesting how this study aimed to
deconstruct, and dissect the psychological components of
family life in a more unbiased way.
