Tough times prompt transgender job fair in L.A.
I learned in college that transgender people have the highest unemployment rate of any minority. Obviously, even gay people have SO many issued about gender... internalized homophobia.

good news week
Vermont Legislature Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage
The Iowa Supreme Court decision effectively legalizing same-sex marriage can not take effect until Monday, April 27. The justices issued a unanimous ruling Friday siding with six same-sex Iowa couples.
Washington D.C. Recognizes Gay Marriage
Wow this week has turned out to be a rather pleasant surprize.
Now that we have black president, it's really not ok to be racist. I will say that I begrudgingly voted for Obama (I'm registered with the Green Party). Now racism is really out in the open, it's more impossible than ever to ignore it.
Hopefully, there will be a time and place for all people. Although I'm not christian (I'm far too highly educated to be christian) a few days ago I saw a bumper sticker I really liked. It said god bless everyone, no exceptions... or something to that effect. I thought it was nice.
It's my hypothesis that in a matter of years, money will be the last division between people (even though I personally already think it is).
This kind of news is really good right now, definately something to look forward to, and a breath of fresh air in the stangnant odorferious landscape that is middle america.

insurance news
U.S. bill would make insurers cover pre-existing ills
wow, how great would that be if insurance companies were only able to swindle people for millions instead of billions? I looked all day for news to post, but I just don't care about anything. I don't know what made me change my mind about this one... maybe cuz I don't have health insurance. It would be nice to go to the doctor, and maybe get some cavities filled, cause it's been years.

thanks Perez!
Boycott this theater! donated money towards yes on 8, yet still instend to profit from the new movie Milk.
The CEO of Cinemark, Alan Stock,
donated $9999 to the Yes on 8 Campaign, but
will now profit from showing MILK in his theaters.
If 1,000 of us commit to see MILK at a competitor’s theater
instead of Cinemark, at an average cost of $10 per ticket,
that’s $10,000 of lost revenue.
Update: We’ve hit 1,000!
As of sunday evening, we have exceeded 1,000 facebook members who have joined our cause!
But it’s just a start—we need to keep going to make the biggest impact we can. Our new goal is 10,000 members—This is aggressive but we think it’s possible. Let’s keep it going!
Boycotts work. A boycott of a Sacramento theatre company
resulted not only in the resignation of a Yes on 8 contributor,
but a public apology and donation to Human Rights
Campaign! We can do this again.
You can find an alterative theater using the links on the
left, and join our facebook group below to spread the word!
Help us reach 1000 members so we can send a message to Mr. Stock: YOU WILL NOT PROFIT FROM HATE.
