Anyone who studied a little genetics in high school has heard of adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine - the A,T,G and C that make up the DNA code. But those are not the whole story. The rise of epigenetics in the past decade has drawn attention to a fifth nucleotide, 5-methylcytosine (5-mC), that sometimes replaces cytosine in the famous DNA double helix to regulate which genes are expressed. And now there's a sixth. In experiments to be published online Thursday by Science, researchers reveal an additional character in the mammalian DNA code, opening an entirely new front in epigenetic research.

-Telomeres are strings of a repeating code at the end of each DNA strand
-every time the cell divides one sequence is lost; thus a limit on cell replication or "Hayflick limit"
-the enzyme, Telomerase, can overcome the limit, already found in cancer or germ line cells which are immortal
-animal experiments show some cancer increases, however, and there is current difficulty administering Telomerase enzyme into cell nuclei
-once overcome, however, the enzyme can immoratalize ALL human cells

I tried to be a surgical nurse. It didn't work out, and I'm really glad it didn't because I knew it didn't stimulate my creativity, and I was merely pursing that idea to make money only.
I plan on getting a degree in cell and molecular biology and also getting a biotech certificate. I'm going do all sorts of crazy shit in a lab that would probably PISS you the fuck off, don't even try to tell me no, because I don't have time to waste on uneducated fucks who aren't on my level. They'll never be on my level, that's the truth.
I'm probably going to achieve levels of fame in the scientific community. I'm a MAD SCIENTIST.
